January - Nature Lover

Merry Christmas, crafters!  I hope you like my latest project for the Polkadoodles We Love to Create Challenge Blog.  For the main image I used the Nature Lover – January digi stamp which I coloured using Copics and Promarker pens and die cut the image using a Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle die.

I created the background by covering a circular board with a co-ordinating coloured paper from the Octavia Moonfly - Paper Heaven Paperholic collection and edging the board with ‘Salvaged Patina’ embossing glaze.

I then stamped the flowers and leaves stamps from the ‘Queen of Hearts Collage’ and ‘Flower Collage’ stamp sets on to Octavia Moonfly - Paper Heaven Paperholic papers and plain card stock from my stash, fussy cutting to create a floral frame around my central image.  I took the butterfly stamp from the ‘Flower Collage’ stamp set and heat embossed directly on to the board using ‘Worn Lipstick’ Distress Powder and on to a darker teal card stock.

I used the toadstools from ‘Winnie Wonderland Embellies 1&2’ to add extra detail and interest, shading the spots with a Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen ‘Clear Star’ pen.

To tie in the scalloped edges from the main image, I punched small circles out of white card stock and spritzed using ‘Dylusions’ ink sprays in shades of Fushia and Hot Pink.

I look forward to seeing your beautiful projects this month,

Happy Crafting!

Gabrielle
